The Aftermath: Game of Thrones Finale Conspiracy Theories

Drogon Took Daenerys Body to The Shadow Lands, Where She Would be Resurrected

Reviving the dead is not a foreign concept in Game of Thrones. The Night King did it numerous times, and Melisandre, the Red Woman, resurrected on Snow and Beric Dondarrion, in the name of the Lord of Light. With that in mind, many fans started to discuss the possibility of Drogon taking his mother, Daenerys, somewhere when she can be resurrected.

Drogon is the true tragic figure in this last season of Game of Thrones. He Lost his 2 brothers, Viserion and Rhaegal, the first was killed by The Night King in season 7, and the later was killed by scorpion bolts fired at him from Euron Greyjoy ships. In the season finale, he loses his mother, Daenerys – The Mother of Dragons. He’s truly alone now, and even though his a CGI character, his hurt is showing in a dramatic and convincing manner, as he tries cries upon Dany’s body, and burning down The Iron Throne, out of sorrow, loss, and anger.

During one of the last scenes of the series, Tyrion gathers the new Kind’s council, as they discuss with their new King, Bran the Broken, about the whereabouts of Drogon, as he took Daenerys and flew away. Sam mentioned that he was “heading east”. This got many fans of the book thinking that Drogon flew to Asshai and the Shadow Lands.

Asshai never mentioned in the series. However, in the books, it is described as the southernmost peninsula of an area known as the ‘Shadow Lands’, where witches and wizards reside, and it is also suggested that Melisandre, the women who רesurrected Jon Snow and Beric Dondarrion, came from that area.
